In this study, we aim to investigate whether professional mathematicians differ from matched controls (education level, age, gender, and fluid intelligence) in spatial biases in random number generation associated with directional head movements. These spatial biases can be observed on top of “small number bias,” where subjects tend to produce, on average, smaller numbers than expected by chance (Towse et al., 2014; Di Bono & Zorzi, 2013; Loetscher & Brugger, 2007).
